When designing Gardens for our clients, multi level garden design is very popular. We are often told by customers that they are looking for a way to bring a new life and purpose to their garden. We love all styles of garden design, but multi level design is definitely one of our favourites!
A great advantage of this style of design, is the fact you can have completely separate areas within your garden. If you would like to have a section of your garden decked or paved but would still like to have the greenery of fresh grass, this is easily achieved by sectioning off your garden using different levels. This is also advantageous if you have a large garden, as levels can help you keep the maintenance down. If you do not want to spend hours mowing your garden at the weekend, having only a section of your garden with grass on it will be dramatically cut down the time spent maintaining your garden, leaving more time to enjoy it and relax.
Including different levels within your garden design also allows for a lot of creativity. You could perhaps have a water feature that runs from the top of garden and ends at a pond at the bottom. This is a great way to bring continuity to your Garden when including different levels.
There are many different ways to section off different levels of your garden design. It is a great opportunity to have some stunning flower beds between levels or even perhaps a rockery.
Using paths and steps to take you to the next level of your garden, is a great way to lead you to a main feature in your garden. This could be a dining/entertainment area, a smoke pit, a water feature or anything else you might want.
We are great fans of multi level design and we love it when a customer comes to us asking for us to create a design based upon it. Below is an example of some multi level garden design that has been carried out by Outdoor Creations.
