They say that your home design is usually related to your personality, but have you ever considered that your garden design could be as well? If you enjoy gardening, or you are planning on improving your home with a new garden design or some landscaping then why not consider matching your home to your personality?
There are lots of ways in which you can match your garden to your personality. Think about what most defines you as an individual. Perhaps you are creative, organised, practical or you need a hobby? You can then match your garden design to this.
If you are a creative type, then it’s likely you will have lots of ideas as to how your garden should be designed. You may want to sculpt bushes in various shapes to suit your interests. For example, if you are interested in horse riding, then you could sculpt the bushes into the shapes of horses. You could even ask for ideas from others living in your home, or friends and family. You need to make sure you plan out your garden design before you start sculpting, to ensure that it all fits nicely together!
If you have an organised personality then you may be suited to a traditional garden design. This involves a freshly mown, well-manicured lawn and carefully chosen plants either side of it. You may decide to grow rose bushes and other traditional plants which can be looked after easily. You could also include a water feature such as a fountain or a pond.
Perhaps you are a more practical person, and would prefer to have practicality in your garden design. This design would be dependent on how much time you have in your every day life. If you are retired and find yourself with a lot of time on your hands, then you may decide to have a garden with an allotment so you can grow your own vegetables and have a new hobby. However, if you find you have no time and just want to enjoy your garden when you can, then you may consider a modern garden with paving as this means less work.
After considering your sort of personality, it is of course important to also consider how you will be using your garden. Will it be a place of entertaining? A place of beauty? Let us know the garden design you prefer and your garden’s personality over on our website.
