We are passionate about garden design at Outdoor Creations and we strive to provide you with the very best service, unique and tailored to each of your needs and desires, even down to the plants we use.
Over our many years experience in the industry we’ve learnt that a well designed garden is just as important as your home interiors. There is so much to think about when it comes to garden design. The flowers you choose can really change the whole dynamic and feel of your entire garden. You need to especially think about the colours you want, the size of the plants and maybe most significantly, the time of year each flower will bloom. If you’re clever with your plant choices, you will be able to create the garden design you crave all year round.
To ensure you have a colourful and flourishing June we have put together a list of flowers you can expect to see this month.
Marigolds are beautiful, bold and vibrant flowers that make the ideal bedding plant. They are very popular in the gardening world as they are easy to grow and can thrive in a wide range of growing conditions and soil types, meaning even novice gardeners are able to successfully grow them.
Asters are stunning, exotic flowers that come in a variety of different colours, making them a versatile flower that can comfortably fit in with many different garden designs. Butterflies love asters so not only do they look the part but they will also attract wildlife in to your gardens.
Irises are real show stoppers. These tall, unusual looking flowers will tower over your beds, creating a very interesting landscape. Irises are distinctive plants that can be found in an abundance of different colours and despite their complex appearance are actually surprisingly easy to grow. They are also hardy and reliable plants so prove very popular with many gardeners.
Sweet peas are a classic gardeners favourite, with their delicate looking petals and lovely summer fragrance. They are easy to grow from seed and each flower will provide many flower heads. The thing to remember with sweet peas is that they are reasonably fast growers and will need support as their stems are quite delicate. The easiest thing to do is to stake them early on and guide them on to the stakes with garden string. The string will soon be hidden once the beautiful flowers start to bloom.
You may think you’ve missed the boat for sowing seeds but June can prove to be the ideal month to once again bring out the planting trays and packets of seeds and get green-fingered. It is the perfect time to sow your perennial and biennial plants for next spring. To make the most of your garden and ensure it thrives all year round, there is no resting month.
